Wesak 2011- 25 May Voluntarily Disrobing and Taking 5 Precepts

We started about 3am in the morning with chanting, following by the novices taking leave of the robes (voluntarily disrobing).


Khun Mae had advised the novices to stay in the robe for 9 days- so it is to pass the 24th May. As a number of us are heading back to Malaysia and Singapore on that day, we had early in the morning right before leaving for Chiang Mai.

Overall, the entire event was very meaningful. For those who have experienced the ordained life, even for a short period of time are able to understand the meaning of monk and nunhood to a more profound level.
