During the Vesak 2015 Ordination Program 短期出家 (30 May- 12 June), ordained monks and novices would be travelling to Northeast Thailand and staying in some temples. There, they would undergo ascetic practice.
Kubah Sam is pictured below and he had undergone thudong practice- staying in caves and forest. He would be guiding the ordained monks and novices in their practice.
A monk or novice on ascetic practice carries with him a few essential items such:
- a set of robes
- a pair of slippers
Above: The correct demeanor while going for almsround. The monk or novice walks barefoot, with downcast eyes carrying the covered almsbowl and walking with mindfulness. There should not be idle chatter or looking around during almsround.
One walk in line during the almsround. Upon receipt of food offering, the monks and novices to chant the transferance of merits.
